Beauty Blog #1 Estee Lauder Corporate Sale mini haul

Hey, guys!

So today I'll be blogging about my amazing experience attending the Estee Lauder Corporate Sale on the 3rd of December that was hosted by the Pyjamas Foundation in Brisbane (as that's where I'm located). It's held every year I'm pretty sure and tickets are for sale for 10 dollars per person(which they do run out real quick!). To be honest, everytime I get invited to these kinds of events I've always been quite sceptical because I thought the sales wouldn't be that great anyways (oh was I so wrong haha).

I'll start by explaining how it all works, which I'm sure if you've attended or will attend they will have you informed at the door but who doesn't like a little heads up? Once you've purchased your tickets they will mail you your printed copy which you would take to the event. The tickets are to presented when you finalise your purchase at the counter, as I believe it's supposed to restrict you from making multiple purchases (correct me if I'm wrong, haha just taking a blind guess). SO! The biggest misconception most of my lady friends have with this event is that they only sell Estee Lauder product (due to the name only mentioning Estee Lauder) and let me tell you there are definitely other brands including MAC, Bobbi Brown, Clinique and few other makeup/skincare brand I'm not too familiar with.

Most products there are mostly 60% off and some are dropped even further if there are red markings on the products! (awesome right?) This brings me to the first product that caught my eyes, the Bobbi Brown nail polishes!

Bobbi Brown Nail Polishes

RRP: 24.00AUD (taken from www.bobbibrown.com.au)
Sale Price: 5.00AUD

Although there was like only a total of 4 different colours on the shelf (which I grabbed 3 out of the 4 haha), it was super cheap as shown above they were only for 5 dollars each! The colours that I've got are Bordeaux, Cherry Tomato and Navy (ordered left to right). Just this morning I tried out the first colour Bordeaux (photo below) and the quality of the product is incredible! It just glides on the nail and doesn't get clumpy, two coats was definitely enough to get a full coverage of the colour. The colour payoff matches exactly with the bottle itself and this to me is all I ever wanted when buying nail polish haha for it to look how I'd expect it to look! (holla if you understand what I meant!). In total, I saved a good 19 dollars on each product and that is what you call a bargain <3

Another product from Bobbi Brown that I purchased is the Skin Foundation!

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation

RRP: 72.00AUD (taken from Mecca Maxima Website)
Sale Price: 43.00AUD

I rarely do buy a lot of high-end foundation especially when I don't need one, so I tend to only use one high-end product at a time. Unfortunately, the product that I am currently using is the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation, it doesn't have the complete accurate shade for my skin tone and thus I often have to mix it with a lighter foundation to get the right tone. Therefore I wanted to find another high-end foundation that is more suited for my skin tone and I've always been super obsessed with Bobbi Brown. So when I saw it being on sale I just couldn't resist but grab a bottle of these bad boys in the tone Warm Beige 3.5. I've looked at a few review by popular YouTubers such as Shaanox and there has been numerous positive feedback on it. I did have a try for the first time last night and it is definitely a nice lightweight foundation which gives a light to medium coverage which then gives a natural kind of feel as well as it would look wearing it. It did give a slightly dewy finish which I don't normally go for but it didn't bother me so much. It's a nice foundation when you don't feel like having a full face makeup and maybe good for either everyday makeup look or just any casual event.

The next product caught my eyes as soon as I saw that they have the Clinique brand because I've been running low on one of my skin routine product which is the Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator!

Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator

RRP: 60.00AUD (taken from Mecca Maxima website)
Sale Price: 36.00AUD

It's only been within a year that I got into the brand Clinique as part of my skincare routine and to be honest it is barely any routine because I am super lazy with skincare (I know it's bad :( haha). I do however believe in night time skin replenishing and so I like to use an intense moisturiser to use at night before I go to bed. As my skin type is combination/oily skin, I like a moisturiser that gives it that great boost but doesn't oil up your skin overnight and clinique so far as been the best product that leaves my skin feeling super soft the morning after. If you haven't tried it, give it go! Sometimes it's best to go for the slightly expensive product than continuously shopping around and wasting money on cheap brands that just don't work.

The last brand that appealed to me at the sale was MAC cosmetics. I'm not usually a big fan of this brand because I feel like some of the stuff are quite over price but with the 60% off it didn't feel so bad to try out some of their products. In fact, I use to use alike many others fellow makeup users; the Matchmaker foundation and it was actually one of my first high-end foundation I've laid my hands on. It was a good foundation until I think it made my skin very flaky which I didn't like. Anyways! The two products I purchased is the MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed powder and the Lip pencil .

MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder

RRP: 43.00AUD
Sale Price: 26.00AUD

As I'm writing up this post, I've just realised that I actually don't have any high-end powder foundation ><. I think because I've been using the Rimmel Stay Matte powder foundation and it has been working for me and thus I don't have the need to seek for other powder foundation? Also, there hasn't been one that calls out to me enough for me to purchase it. However, the minute I had a feel of this compact it was super smooth and it felt the same going on my face. It didn't make my face look cakey and it does mattify my foundation even more than the Rimmel powder (which is awesome!). There isn't much more I could say about this product because I'd need to keep using it for awhile to have a solid opinion. For now? It does its job and that's all I need. The tone I got is the Medium Plus which had a little pink undertone.

MAC Lip Pencil
RRP: 30.00AUD
Sale Price: 10.00AUD

(This image was taken straight from www.maccosmetics.com.au because I couldn't take a clear photo of it)

Besides the Bobbi Brown Nail Polish, this product I grabbed was also marked further down in read and thus I got it for only 10 dollars! I have not tried it on yet because I've yet to go out during the evening or have an event where I'd be wearing dark lipstick but I can't wait to give it a try because like the powder foundation this is my first high-end lip pencil that I've got in my collection. It does feel really smooth when drawn on my hands but that is probably not enough to tell you guys how it is on my lips. (Stay tuned because I might post a little update to the product)

And that's a wrap, guys! Overall I LOVE this corporate sale and would definitely go again next year to grab more bargain. Unlike people who uses/purchase makeup as a career or hobby, I wish had money to spur a lot and to be honest spending as much as I did was already so crazy for me and to others it may not seem much but it is when you've got a budget like mine.

Like always I'd like to finish my post with this statement that I am not a professional makeup guru or critic and that everyone has different opinions on products and something that may not work for me can work well for others. This post is genuinely my personal experience that I'd like to share with you guys and so I hope you find it interesting and helpful in some way. Cheers <3
